Last but not the least, the youngest among the four is Mazharul Islam Rafi. After completing his SSC, he was given an orange colored Canon Digital camera which made his fascination for photography flared.
After completing his HSC in 2010, he got admitted in IUT. One day he showed a few of his snaps to a senior in order to display his photos for the upcoming photo exhibition “Break the Circle”. A senior asked him to edit one of his street photos and submit for the exhibition which left everyone spellbound to see the creation of this first year student being selected for display.
In 2011, he toured Sylhet with his friends where he captured a railway with his digital camera which was later displayed in the esteemed TTL (Through The Lens) exhibition in Bangladesh in 2012. He was then spotted by his seniors.
Inspired by his seniors in photography, he asked for a DSLR from his family. Scholarships of HSC, remuneration from tutoring in Udvash accompanied by grant from his family financed his first DSLR Nikon D5000 in 2011.
In January 18th 2012, Jobayer Shuvo took him to Four Seasons to cover a wedding shoot. With not a single normal flash of his own then, a few random shots that he took, left Jobayer Shuvo enthralled.
One of the biggest setbacks for Rafi was losing his camera the very next day in Bashundhara City while buying one for his friend. Having no other alternatives, he withdrew all his IUTs’ scholarship money and bought a new DSLR Canon D550.
In a night of March in the same year, he received a phone call where the voice exclaimed, “We are planning for a photographer team, are you in or not?” asked Jobayer Shuvo. A call from Shuvo bhai needed no second thought. He replied ‘yes’ obligingly. In the beginning, his Facebook Id bore the name ‘Rough Rafi’, till today he is called by this name around here in Dream Weaver.
Rafi grew up in Chittagong. He completed his SSC from Chittagong Collegiate School with HSC from Muhsin College. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering.
